The One Hundred Reasons
Naturally, comparisons between the original series and The Next
Generation abound. An ongoing discussion about the merits of
Captain Picard vs. Captain Kirk has existed since the debut of the
new series.
However, technology has now entered the dissemination of the debate
with an article posted to a computer network news group that gave
100 reasons why Captain Kirk was better than Captain Picard. PSEB
could not let this go unchallenged. Through several electronic
mail communications, the members developed their own list of 100
hundred reasons Captain Picard is better than Captain Kirk, a task
made difficult only by the distracting quality of Mr. Stewart's and
Captain Picard's sterling qualities.
The following list contains both sets of reasons. Those in
regular type font are the original Captain Kirk vs. Captain Picard
reasons; those in boldface are PSEB's rebuttal reasons. Some are
witty,
some humorous, a few are inside jokes, and one or two could be
considered downright obscene. We hope you enjoy them all.
